Growth, Wealth & Sustainability...

The BC Natural Resource Forum is designed to bring together government and community decision makers and business people from the natural resources sector. It provides delegates an opportunity to examine key issues facing governments, communities and industries, to discuss challenges and identify opportunities for sustainable, responsible development of natural resources in BC.

The combination of the BC Natural Resource Forum, the Tradeshow and the Awards Dinner creates a unique opportunity for cross-communication, networking and synergies that would not otherwise occur. All participants will be able to engage in the dialogue about the "Big Picture" aspects of resource management.

BC NATURAL RESOURCE FORUM
Hosted by Honourable Pat Bell
MLA Prince George North and Minister of Agriculture and Lands

Welcome to the 6th Annual BC Natural Resource Forum held at the Prince George Civic Centre on Thursday, January 17th and Friday, January 18th, 2008.

The BC Natural Resource Forum is a unique and exciting opportunity for the entire resource industry to meet and discuss integration and shared aims The focus is on the importance of our natural resources and will feature presentations which include Forestry, Mining, Energy and Agriculture.

The Forum will again feature a "Careers in the Natural Resource Sectors" for students from Prince George and surrounding areas. This will be an opportunity for Secondary School, College and University students to explore career choices with resource industry representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as representatives from several post-secondary institutions.

I am pleased to be joined by a number of my colleagues from Government who will be discussing the future of the resource economy in northern British Columbia.

You will find the Forum to be informative and a great opportunity to network with representatives from various industries from across the Province. It is my hope that you will leave with increased confidence and enthusiasm about the future of our Natural Resource Industries and Economy in British Columbia.

I look forward to your participation.

Honourable Pat Bell
MLA Prince George North
Minister of Agriculture and Lands
